Special Educational Needs

Mrs McCoy
My name is Vicky McCoy. I am the SENDCo at Keyham Barton Catholic Primary School.

My role is to support the pupils with special educational needs and the staff that work alongside them in the school so that their needs are met and that they receive the best level of education we can offer them.

I balance my role as SENDCo with my role as EYFS class teacher, however I have designated time to work with children, staff and parents to offer support in my role as Special Needs Coordinator.
As a Trauma Informed Mental Health Practitioner (level 5 diploma) I am keenly aware of the need for a trauma aware, shame avoidant system of support for children and staff.
I am also studying for a Masters in Inclusion and SEND as part of Plymouth CAST's apprenticeship scheme for Senior Leaders. I ensure I keep up to date with the latest research informed practice.

We have a fantastic team at Keyham Barton who work alongside other professionals to support any child who needs additional support.
Please feel free to contact me or the school regarding any questions you have.

You can contact the school office on 01752 567684 or email me at vmccoy@keyhambarton.plymouth.sch.uk
I am also happy to receive Dojo messages. No question is too small.
