Attendance
It is important that your child is in school every day so that they do not miss vital learning time. Please let the office know if your child will be absent from school by telephone on the first morning of the absence. Permission is required for absences which are foreseen e.g.dental and medical. More information can be found in our 'Attendance Policy.'
Annual holiday will no longer be authorised by the Head Teacher except in exceptional circumstances as outlined on Absence Request Form S2 which is available from the school office.
If there are persistent absences then families will receive an attendance letter reminding them of the importance of attendance.
Following 10 days of absence a referral will be submitted to the Educational Welfare Officer who will carry out home visits during absences as required.
Persistent unauthorised absences will result in a fine.
We continue to work closely with families to ensure attendance remains a priority. IAP's (Individual Attendance Plans) will be put in place if additional support is required.
